Meet our leaders who play a critical role in shaping the service ecosystem in Stockton.
Director
Erika was proudly born and raised in the Central Valley. She grew up in many of the small towns and communities in Stanislaus and San Joaquin County. She went to college at University of the Pacific (BA) and University of Missouri-St. Louis (MA). Prior to this role, she was an AmeriCorps service member, she built a teacher preparation and support program at an education non-profit and constructed a network informed alumni strategy to catalyze change in her local ecosystem. She thinks deeply about systemic conditions, historical context, and how to best serve people. Erika invests her creative genius into designing innovative and inclusive leadership experiences.

Omar Ornelas is the Associate Director of Stockton Service Corps. As an AmeriCorps Alumni, he believes deeply in the power of service and volunteerism. Omar has over 7 years of experience in the nonprofit and AmeriCorps world and is excited to support the work being done by the Stockton community. In his freetime, he supports the Alternatives to Violence Project in Stockton and the surrounding communities.

As a first-generation college graduate and proud “Dreamer,” Erik is passionate about empowering the next generation of central valley residents through education. Born in Oakland, CA, Erik was 7 years old when his family moved to the central valley to start their own food business at the local flea market, where he helped his parents while he was still in high school and college. Erik sparked a passion in advocating for underserved communities as he volunteered at campus student club that advocated for crucial resources for undocumented students on campus. He has his own translation business helping immigration attorneys to file immigration requests. He looks forward to building coalitions with diverse communities and increasing civic participation.

Richley Gatewood was born in Oakland, California where he spent the early stages of his life moving all around the Bay area. After turning 12 years old Richley and his father relocated to Stockton. During his time in Stockton, he attended and graduated from Edison High School in 2015. While at Edison, he was a two-sport athlete and graduated with honors. After high school, he attended San Joaquin Delta College where he continued to play sports. It was during this time that he began to take an interest in studying the law and becoming more politically aware. He graduated from Delta College in 2019 and transferred to CSU Sacramento. Richley became the first in his family to attend and graduate from an accredited university. In 2021, he graduated with a degree in Political Science.

Kimberly Tablit (she/her) was born in Manila, Philippines before immigrating to the U.S. with her family at three years old. She was raised and grew up in South Stockton, eventually graduating from Edison High School. After high school, she attended the University of California, Berkeley where she obtained a B.S. in Society and the Environment with a Public Policy Minor in 2022. During her time in undergrad, Kimberly was heavily involved in community and advocacy work through internships and volunteer opportunities with organizations both in the Bay Area and Stockton. Her experiences growing up in South Stockton and as a first-generation college graduate fuel her passion for social equity and environmental justice. Kimberly is excited to serve her community.

The Stockton Service Corps Advisory Board serves as advisors and thought partners for our team. The Advisory Board provides guidance, expertise, and feedback in support of our program.

Mario Enríquez focus is on building campus-wide awareness and competence regarding cultural inclusion and equity. He supervises, evaluates, and develops unit’s staff including LGBTQ Pride Resource Center

Tony Gladney was born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley and has been serving his community in various ways throughout his life.All of his experiences prompted his transition to San Joaquin A+ to lead the Child Savings Account pilot program for San Joaquin County

Phillip Hon is a career educator who grew up in Stockton, Ca, has focused on advancing equity for students and families through various roles in education, policy, and nonprofits. Phillip served as a school administrator, instructional coach, and teacher at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.

Jasmine Leek is an interdisciplinary community designer from Stockton, CA, who brings over a decade of professional experience in various leadership roles spanning multiple sectors to each project she undertakes. Jasmine has a bold entrepreneurial spirit for supporting community.

Josh works to support NGO, philanthropic, and not-for-profit leaders. Previously, Josh served as a policy advisor to Common Sense Media, working as a lead staffer for the Future of Tech Commission, and in Stockton as Executive Director of Special Projects for Stockton Unified School District.

Bruce is a Support Supervisor working with intern teachers at Teacher's College of San Joaquin who are working on a teaching credential. He retired from teaching Math at Lincoln high in May 2020 after 15 years. While teaching he was the Black Student Union (BSU) club advisor.

Connor Sloan is a proud son, husband, father, and life-long learner that grew up in Stockton. He graduated from University of Puget Sound with a B.A. in Communication Studies, a Master's in Administration and Leadership and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Jose State University, and a Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from University of the Pacific.
